del Lago will run community events focused on celebrating local vets

del Lago Resort & Casino is looking for ways to lead by example.

Playing its role as a community contributor and partner, the philosophy of leading is at del Lago’s core.  This month, del Lago is introducing a new community initiative focused on honoring and recognizing local veterans while also enhancing existing community programs that reach those who have served.

“Over the past nearly three years, we have been privileged to connect with members across our community who are equally as driven to lead by example — our local veterans,” said del Lago Resort & Casino Executive Vice President and General Manager Lance Young. “These men and women are a positive role model and we are proud to support veterans and the organizations that lift them up during difficult times. We look forward to providing our guests and employees with opportunities to contribute as well.”

In addition to participating in the Veterans Stand Down/Job Fair at the Waterloo VFW last weekend, del Lago Resort & Casino is proud to introduce new programs while enhance some of its current community initiatives to support veterans including:

Veteran’s Day Farmer’s Market Buffet

To thank and honor veterans for their dedication and service, on Veteran’s Day, Nov. 11, del Lago Resort & Casino invites veterans to enjoy its Farmers Market Buffet at no cost. Veterans must show their military ID or valid Veteran Rewards Club card to be eligible for their free meal. Veterans also receive $2 off a buffet every Sunday.

Hometown Heroes

To show gratitude for their service, del Lago Resort & Casino’s Hometown Heroes program recognizes military service men and women from the community and del Lago employees who are veterans. As part of the initiative, guests are invited to share a photo of a friend, family member, neighbor or loved one who has served. Nominations are being accepted online for a chance to be featured on del Lago’s social media platforms in recognition of all that the veterans have done for our country.

Canandaigua Veteran Affairs Medical Center Drive

Nov. 15-30, del Lago Resort & Casino will host an employee collection drive to support the Canandaigua Veteran Affairs Medical Center. Employees are encouraged to bring toiletries, kitchen items, diapers and clothing that will support the Canandaigua VA Medical Centers’ programs, including the Homeless and Women Veterans Program.

Community Cash-In

Del Lago Resort & Casino guests can also join in to support local veterans’ organizations.  The Community Cash-In program allows guests to donate TITO vouchers to local charities.  The slot machine vouchers can be placed into designated collection boxes located at the casino entrances and the total of the vouchers is donated each quarter to a local charity selected by del Lago Resort & Casino. Beginning in November, Community Cash-In will collect donations for Veterans Outreach Center and Clear Path for Veterans.  Since its inception, Community Cash-In has raised $15,000 for local non-profits.
