Ferrara wins Seneca Falls Supervisor seat; Churchill, Dyson win board seats

In unofficial results, Republican Mike Ferrara defeated Democrat Doug Avery for town supervisor by a vote of 1,235 to 1,169.

“I want to thank the voters for coming out. I congratulate Doug for having the courage to run for supervisor and I look forward to working with him on the board,” Ferrara said Tuesday night.

Avery has two years remaining on his Town Board seat.

“I also want to thank the Seneca County and Seneca Falls Republican committees for their support. I’m happy the voters had confidence in me to become supervisor. I hope we can all move forward in a positive way,” Ferrara said.

Avery said he was disappointed and said the Democrats and his supporters did not get the voters to turn out, noting turnout was down from two years ago.
