Troopers give update on wrong-way crash along Thruway in Tyre

New York State Police have released identities of those involved in the fatal wreck along the Thruway last month.

Troopers said Monica Amelda, 61, currently of Brampton, Ontario, and originally from Guyana, and Florie Singh, 77, of Guyana, were both passengers in a 2015 Toyota Sienna that was involved in the head-on collision on October 20th in Tyre.

Three vehicles were involved. Troopers did not update the publicly available details of the crash investigation.

Originally, it was reported that a vehicle was traveling the wrong way on the Thruway, which resulted in the head-on crash.

Troopers did not add any additional information to the incident. However, they did note that the investigation remains active.

Anyone with information should contact Investigator David Worden at 315-253-3103.
