Fatal crash in Sodus temporarily shuts down Rt. 104

Deputies are investigating a fatal crash that happened in Sodus last night a little before 7 p.m.

They say a vehicle was heading west on State Route 104 when it crossed over into the path of an eastbound vehicle.

Deputies say the westbound vehicle was operated by Gerald Montalvo, 22, of Sodus. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Wayne County Coroner.



Deputies say that the individual in the eastbound vehicle was treated and released at the scene.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Crash Team is continuing the investigation. Deputies on-scene were assisted by members of New York State Police, East Williamson Fire Department, Sodus Fire Department, Williamson Fire Department, as well as Sodus and Williamson ambiance teams.

Route 104 was temporarily closed as crews worked the scene.
