Canandaigua Mayor Ellen Polimeni and her opponent Councilmember Bob Palumbo want the job of city mayor for basically the same reason.
Both love the city and both want to continue serving its people, even if their ways of going about may differ. That will be the challenge facing city residents when they head to the polls on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 5.
“I’m doing it because I love it. I love representing the city,” said Polimeni, who in recent weeks has racked up statewide endorsements from State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli and Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul, both Democrats like Polimeni.
“I love bringing people together to get things done within the city,” Polimeni said. “It really is my life, every day. I get up every day and figure out what I have to do for Canandaigua.”
