Waterloo man accused of leaving young children in car alone while he went into Walmart

A Waterloo man was taken into custody this week after police say he left two young kids inside a vehicle at a local store.

On Monday at 1:34 p.m. police arrested Randy R. Adorno-Davila, 31, of Waterloo after he left two children unattended in a car at the Walmart Super Center.

Police say they received a third party call reporting children left unattended in a vehicle for several minutes.

While investigating that report, police were reviewing store surveillance footage with staff.

It was also discovered that on a separate date, Adorno-Davila had left the store without paying for merchandise in his possession.

The two children, ages seven and one, were not harmed, according to police.

Adorno-Davila was taken into custody at the Seneca County Office Building with the assistance of the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office.

He was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and petit larceny, both misdemeanors.

He was transported to the Seneca County Correctional Facility to await arraignment, according to police.
