Testimony will be heard Tuesday morning by the New York State Assembly Health Committee Chair about the effects of a potential ban on tackle football for youth football.
The hearing will focus on the effects of prohibiting tackle football for children ages 12 and under.
There is no proposal currently in place that would ban tackle football for youth organizations in New York state.
Assembly Health Committee Chair Richard Gottfried will be hearing testimony about the potential impacts on programs and children, as well as the current impacts of the sport on children. The hearing comes as more concerns are being raised about long-term health effects of tackle football on children.
