Police: Felony drug bust in Canandaigua leads to prostitution charge

The Canandaigua Police Department reports the arrest of a 33-year-old Syracuse resident following prostitution sting on October 22nd.

Police say that Shannon Dyer, 33, of Syracuse was charged with prostitution and criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony.



Police say that Dyer agreed to have sex in exchange for money with an undercover police officer. Dyer also attempted to sell the detective cocaine.

Both alleged incidents are said to have occurred in Canandaigua; and were part of an ongoing effort by the police department to investigate illegal drug sales int he city.

Dyer was held at the Ontario County Jail pending arraignment.
