A Newfield man was arrested on sex abuse charges, according to authorities.
Deputies say Remanu J. Phillips, 29, of Newfield, has been charged with felony sexual abuse following a complaint that an adult was having sexual contact with a child younger than 11 years old.
He was charged with first-degree sexual abuse, a felony, arraigned in Town of Ithaca Court and released.
The Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office said its criminal investigations division received a report of possible sex abuse on October 16th and through additional interviews – Phillips was identified as the suspect.
