Local researchers working to develop E. coli vaccine

Rochester Clinical Research is working to develop an E. coli vaccine.

Researchers say E. coli causes hundreds of thousands of infections in the U.S. each year. While many are harmless, some strains have developed a resistance to antibiotics in recent years.

Rochester Clinical Research is developing a vaccine to prevent blood, lung and kidney infections from E. coli.

They are currently looking for participants for a study on the vaccine.
