Struggles continue for Syracuse as they fall 35-17 to Florida State (full coverage)

The Syracuse Orange needed a win against the Florida State Seminoles to stop the bleeding on a season that’s fallen well short of expectations. Instead — perhaps as expected — SU fell, 35-17 and dropped to 3-5 on the year (and 0-4 in the ACC).

Defensively, the score doesn’t look like the defense had a good game, but they actually played pretty well in the second quarter to help keep SU in it, and created multiple opportunities for the Orange to hang around — however, the offense couldn’t take advantage. SU also missed out on a turnover for the first time in over a season and a half.

PREVIEW:

Don’t let the record fool you. At 3-4 overall and 2-3 in the ACC, Florida State has every bit as much talent as it did during the halcyon days when the Seminoles were winning ACC championships with regularity and competing for national titles.

Syracuse head coach Dino Babers knows he and the Orange (3-4, 0-3 ACC) have a difficult task when they head to Doak Campbell Stadium this weekend, a place Syracuse has not won in five previous tries.
