New York Republicans push Gov. Cuomo on special election for Collins vacated seat in 27th

Hurry up.

That’s the message from top Republicans in New York, pushing Gov. Andrew Cuomo to set a date for a special election for New York’s 27th Congressional District seat.

The seat is empty after Chris Collins pleaded guilty in an insider trading case. His guilty plea and resignation left the 27th Congressional District essentially without any representation in Washington.

State Republicans want to have a voice, but they need the governor’s help. New York State GOP Chairman Nick Langworthy wants an election sooner rather than later.
