NWS issues Frost Advisory for FLX as temps expected to fall overnight

The National Weather Service has issued a Frost Advisory for most of the Finger Lakes. The advisory runs from Friday at 9 p.m. until Saturday at 10 a.m.

While there are a lot of communities around the region – and through the Southern Tier not included in the advisory – that’s due to frost having already observed.

It means the growing season is officially over for these places. Once that happens – Frost Advisories are no longer needed.

Frost Advisories are active for Cayuga, Ontario, Seneca, Yates, and Wayne counties in the immediate Finger Lakes region.

Here’s what the forecast looks like for this weekend:

Saturday

Mostly sunny with a high around 58.

Sunday

A slight chance of showers during the afternoon. High around 63.
