Lawmakers introduced limo safety plan to House and Senate

A bipartisan limo safety package has been introduced to both the House and the Senate.

Congressman Paul Tonko, Congressman Antonio Delgado and Rep. Elise Stefanik along with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Senator Kirsten Gillibrand just introduced their bipartisan limo safety package Wednesday.

The families are seeking passage of proposed legislation that would require new limousines to come with lap-and-shoulder belts for every seat.

The legislation also would set safety standards for limo seats.

Kevin Cushing’s son was killed in the crash. He urged lawmakers to take prompt action.
