A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Thursday morning to celebrate finished work on the Walnut Hill Apartments in Penn Yan.
Work on the apartment complex in the village of Penn Yan has been focused on nearly 60 existing apartments. Another two-story building with eight apartments was added during the construction process.
During renovations, work was done to replace windows, siding and roofs on all the buildings. All apartments were given new paint, carpets, kitchens, bathrooms and energy efficient appliances. The rental office building was built out as well to include a large community room with a kitchen, handicapped accessible bathrooms, patio and a playground.
All apartments are affordable to households earning at or below 60 percent of the area median income.
