An Ontario County man is behind bars after attempting to lure a child into meeting for sex.

Police arrested Joseph Oberdorf, 27, of Farmington on October 9th. He was charged with attempted luring of a child.

Investigators say he made contact online with someone he thought was a child. That person was actually an undercover investigator.

Police say that Oberdorf intended to meet what he thought was a child for sex.

Oberdorf was taken into custody in Farmington. He was held at the Ontario County Jail pending arraignment.
