Livonia man accused of robbing, threatening woman in Canandaigua

The Canandaigua Police Department reports that a Livonia man is in custody after a robbery late last week.

On October 11th at 57-year-old Dean Gerken, of Livonia was arrested and charged with third-degree robbery.

The charge stems from an incident that occurred the night before – on October 10th around 9:10 p.m.

Police say that they responded to a robbery that had just occurred in the area of Wilcox Lane, in which a female was robbed of her purse.

The suspect had fled the area, but investigators were able to identify Gerken, and then track him to Livonia.

Police say that Gerken approached the female victim as she was walking to her vehicle, threatened to harm her if she sought help, and eventually had the purse pulled from her.

Police say Gerken then fled the scene in a vehicle.

Gerken was held at the Ontario County Jail pending arraignment.
