The Minnesota Timberwolves officially signed former Syracuse guard Tyus Battle to a contract today. The team announced the transaction on its website.
Battle, who spent three seasons at SU, played for the Timberwolves in the NBA Summer League. Soon thereafter, reports surfaced that he had signed an Exhibit 10 contract. But he had not appeared on the Minnesota roster, nor had he played any exhibition games with the ‘Wolves.
Last week, a Minnesota media representative said by email that the team had not signed Battle to a contract. A source later explained that the Timberwolves had a numbers situation with their Exhibit 10 players and that by Monday, it would be resolved. At that point, Battle could be added to the team’s roster.
