Ithaca man busted in federal child sex sting indicted on enticement charge

An Ithaca man has been indicted on a federal charge after allegedly trying to coerce two underage girls in Broome County to have sex.

Jeffrey Blake, 43, is accused of communicating online with girls he believed to be ages 9 and 13 in order to engage in sexual activity, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office. He was actually conversing with an undercover police officer.

Last week a grand jury indicted Blake on a felony count of attempted enticement of a minor. He’s scheduled for arraignment at a later date.

Blake is accused of communicating with, who he believed to be the girls, from June 12 through Aug. 23, after first making contact with a person he thought to be the girls’ mother on a social media and dating app, according to court records.
