For the third year in a row, the Newark High School Music Department will host an inspirational salute in honor of American’s truest heroes at a Veterans’ Day Concert and reception November 7th at 7:30 p.m.
The event will begin with a patriotic music concert in the auditorium featuring NHS bands and choirs and conclude with a reception for veterans and their families in the band room following the concert.
NHS instrumental music teacher Robert Humphrey will direct the NHS Concert Band and the Wind Ensemble and Kate Flock, NHS vocal music teacher, will direct the NHS Mixed Choir and Chamber Choir.
The concert will open with the singing of the national anthem and conclude with all groups and audience members participating in “God Bless America.”
“This is our third year of providing this event. We hope to have a stirring success which will be gratifying for all involved as it was last year,” said Humphrey. “ We hope to have a packed house as we do our small part to honor those who have provided us the freedom to choose who we honor.”
In order to provide ample amount of refreshments, Humphrey asked that all veterans who wish to attend the reception contact him ASAP at: [email protected] or (315)-332-3200 x2251.
