Animals pulled from what investigators called “filthy and dangerous” conditions are one step closer to finding a place to call home.
The CNYSPCA has been crowded after taking in more than 60 dogs and some cats a few weeks ago.
After weeks of medical treatment, some of the animals seized from the Whispering Pines Animal Shelter are up for adoption. So far, two dogs are available and some of the cats have already found their forever homes.
“Mr. Clean” and “Brillo” are the first two up for adoption. The dogs have been given clever cleaning names because of all the time they spent in the bathtub.
“The conditions they were in were some of the worst I have seen, but thankfully the majority of them are happy, very playful, very outgoing, social animals,” said Veterinarian Greta Jeitler. “So, some of them are but, we kind of lucked out with that.”
