Many of the dogs known as the ‘Naples 85’ found new homes on Sunday.
The group of rescue dogs became famous after being seized from a home in Naples in one of the worst animal cruelty cases in Ontario County history.
After a legal battle with the dogs’ original owners, the Ontario County Humane Society was able to gain custody of the dogs and put them up for adoption.
“It was kind of overwhelming at first knowing that there was so many,” said shelter manager Diane Faas. “We did not anticipate getting that many out of that house.”
