U.S. Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer, Congressman Paul Tonko (NY-20) and Antonio Delgado (NY-19) are in Riverlink park to unveil their plan on limousine safety.
On Wednesday the NTSB released the anticipated safety findings , connected to the tragic fatal crash of a stretched limo in Schoharie that claimed the lives of 20 people.
The NTSB report details gruesome details of the crash, stating that their recommendations are to require lap/shoulder belts for each passenger in a seated position on all new vehicles modified to be used as limousines. Their findings also say that the crash was not survivable for the limousine driver, and that lap/shoulder belts should be installed as standard equipment for all passenger seating positions in limousines.
