Ithaca approves zoning amendment for West State Street Corridor

Common Council has approved adjusting the zoning of three blocks of West State/Martin Luther King Jr. Street in Downtown Ithaca.

The resolution makes it so the 300, 400 and 500 blocks of West State/Martin Luther King Jr. Street have a maximum height of five stories. The first story also has a 12-foot height minimum, and on subsequent stories, a 10-foot minimum. Council members approved one change to the resolution — getting rid of the stepback requirement for buildings taller than four floors.
