Penn Yan woman charged with criminal contempt after sending letter to Ontario County Jail

The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Penn Yan resident on criminal contempt charges following an investigation into a series of events at the Ontario County Jail.

According to investigators, Elizabeth Althea Haubner, of Penn Yan was arrested for second-degree criminal contempt after allegedly sending a letter to a protected party.

She sent the letter to an individual whom had a stay away order of protection against her. That individual was also serving as an inmate at the Ontario County Jail.

As result, Haubner was charged and issued an appearance ticket.
