Picture perfect weather, and a golf course to match.

The 2019 Silver Creek Club Championship was held over the weekend, with familiar names winning in several divisions.

Over 50 golfers participated in the annual event held over the last weekend of September, to cap off the golf season at Silver Creek.

Josh Durso secured his third overall club championship, shooting 73-75 in the back-to-back stroke play tournament. He defeated Andy Lapiska, who carded an 81-76 over the two days.

Danielle Roetting secured another title in the women’s division. She carded a 90 in round one, and bounced back shooting 80 on Sunday to defeat Trish Brewer, who fired 88-93 over the two days.

In the senior division – Eric Brace captured another title – shooting 76-74 over the two days. His two-day score of 150 was enough to best Jack Stenberg by seven shots.

Waterloo student Colby Roberts captured his first junior title. He fired 90-93 over the two days, finishing ahead of Tyler Adle, Nathan Costantino, and Deven Adle.

Cliff ‘Champ’ Stein, who is a past champion at Silver Creek Golf Club won the open division – shooting 78-82 over the two days. His commutative 160 was enough to hold off Dave Lewis, who carded a 164.

“This is always an incredible weekend, and one that wouldn’t be possible without the staff, our superintendent and his team, and of course, the members who call Silver Creek home,” Norm Sharman said following the successful tournament. Sharman has operated Silver Creek Golf Club for 25 years with his family. “Congratulations to all of our winners, and everyone else who participated this weekend.”
