Flavored e-cigarettes will no longer be sold in New York under an emergency 90-day ban starting this week.
The ban is intended to crack down on flavors seemingly marketed toward children following reports of hundreds of serious illnesses nationwide linked to vaping. The state begins enforcing the ban on Friday.
Staff at Rocky’s Cigar Shop in Syracuse spent Monday packing up their flavored e-cigarette merchandise and throwing it out.
The shop is also getting refunds from wholesalers on merchandise that they didn’t get the chance to sell because of New York’s ban.
