The Skaneateles Central School District has kicked out six students for not getting required vaccinations.
The students’ religious vaccination exemptions were recently repealed by the state. A new state law required schools to exclude any unvaccinated students who did not get shots within the first 14 days of school.
The six students were excluded when the 14-day grace period expired last week, said Karen Dunphy, the district communications coordinator. She said the students’ parents were told not to send them to school. The students are now being home-schooled. The state does not require vaccinations for home-schooled students.
