A Sodus man has been arrested for first-degree criminal sex act after a Wayne County Sheriff’s Office investigation discovered evidence to suggest he had oral sex with a 10-year-old in 2012.
Deputies say that 51-year-old Robert Olmstead was arrested on Wednesday after a nearly year-long investigation that began in Nov. 2018. It is alleged that Olmstead had “oral sexual contact” with a 10-year-old that he was caring for while at his Palmyra home in July 2012.
The investigation had been initiated by Wayne County Child Protective Services. Olmstead has been taken to Wayne County Jail where deputies say he is awaiting arraignment.
