Savannah driver airlifted from scene of Geneva crash on Wednesday

The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office reports that a Wayne County man is listed in stable condition after being airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital on Wednesday.

His pickup truck collided with a dump truck at the intersection of County Road 4 and County Road 6 in the Town of Geneva.

Shane Carpenter, 38, of Savannah was traveling behind the dump truck in his pickup truck. Deputies report that Carpenter was following too closely.

The dump truck was operated by 42-year-old Kenn Susuico, of Scottsville.

Deputies say the crash happened around noon.

Susuico was stopped waiting at the intersection for another vehicle to make a turn – when Carptenter’s vehicle struck the rear of it.

Carptenter was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital due to the extent of his injuries, according to deputies.

He was also ticketed for following too closely.
