First responders have rescued a hiker who fell 30 feet in Taughannock Falls State Park while trying to get into a prohibited area.
Firefighters say they were called to the falls around 7:50 a.m. Wednesday after the person fell near the overlook area while trying to scale a rock ledge down to the bottom of the falls. A team from Trumansburg Fire and EMS was able to get into the prohibited area and rescue them.
Their injuries are considered non-life threatening.
