Congressman Chris Collins has appealed a judges decision on pre-trial motions.
Earlier this month, a judge denied Collins’ efforts to get access to communications from staffers. His lawyers are trying to prove prosecutors violated his rights under the speech and debate clause.
The clause bans prosecutors from interfering with the legislative duties of Congressional members.
The notice of appeal was filed on Friday.
