The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a 62-year-old Interlaken resident on DWI charges following a traffic stop in the Town of Romulus.
The traffic stop occurred on September 8th around 8 p.m., according to deputies, who released information about the incident on Friday.
Deputies say they saw Marlene Hamilton, 62, of Interlaken operating her vehicle at a high rate of speed, traveling south on Route 96A after failing to yield at a yield sign.
Deputies say that she also failed to maintain her lane as they observed her traveling down Route 96A.
They initiated a traffic stop; and noted an open container during investigation. She was found to be driving while intoxicated; and also had a previous DWI conviction, resulting in felony charges.
She was ticketed for failing to keep right, failing to yield, speeding, consuming alcohol in a motor vehicle, and driving while intoxicated.
All of the charges will be answered in Romulus Town Court at a later date.
