Vaping illnesses continue to spread as THC risks revive marijuana legalization debate

As the number of cases of lung illnesses associated with vaping continues to rise, advocates on both sides of the marijuana legalization debate have seized upon the possibility that Americans were sickened by illegal products containing tetrahydrocannabinol to bolster their arguments.

“We are leaving no stone unturned and following all potential leads regarding any particular product, constituent, or compound that may be at issue,” Mitch Zeller, director of the Food and Drug Administration’s Center for Tobacco Products, told reporters Thursday.
