The Penn Yan Police Department says that a Penn Yan driver was ticketed for leaving the scene of a property damage accident after a crash involving a vehicle and buggy.
The crash happened at the intersection of East Main Street and Old 14A.
They say Francis Morris, of Penn Yan reported to police that he had been involved in an accident with a horse and buggy hours earlier.
Police say Morris said that he went through the intersection and had not seen the buggy coming. As result, the horse ran into his vehicle – causing damage.
The horse sustained injuries, but no humans were hurt. The operator of the buggy was identified as Matthew Nolt, of Penn Yan.
Morris was issued traffic tickets for failing to yield the right of way and leaving the scene of a crash.
