“It’ll hold and not tear apart,” she said of her reusable bag.
Hitchcock and other customers at the Corning Wegmans must now bring their own reusable shopping bags.
In late July, it was one of two locations that stopped using plastic bags, in anticipation of a new state law.
“It’s mind-boggling to think there’s so much of that plastic,” Hitchcock said. “I think it’s a good thing.”
The store’s manager said the reception has been positive.
