New York State Legislature to hold hearing on rural broadband

On Tuesday, the state legislature is set to take up the topic of rural broadband internet. State Senator Rachel May is co-chair of the Legislative Commission on Rural Resources, who will be conducting the hearing.

Back in July, nearly $40 million in funding was announced to help bring high-speed internet to more than 15,000 locations.

The goal is to get an update on the status of broadband in rural areas across New York and look at ways to expand it to those areas.
