Deputy unhurt in Hector pursuit; suspect still sought by authorities

A Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office reports that a patrol vehicle was involved in a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Havens Road and Bergen Road in the Town of Hector at approximately 8 p.m. on Monday.  

A Schuyler County Deputy attempted to stop a vehicle for speeding in the Town of Hector when a brief vehicle pursuit occurred. 

The Deputy was traveling north on Havens Road when he lost control of his vehicle and struck a tree. 

The Sheriff’s Office says the deputy was uninjured during the vehicle crash. 

The Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the NYSP and Mecklenburg Volunteer Fire Dept. 

An investigation in ongoing to identify who was driving the speeding vehicle.
