Lake Ontario home repair application information released

Financial assistance information for private homeowners who suffered along Lake Ontario has officially been released by New York State.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced in early August that $20 million from the state’s REDI Commission would be available for neighbors looking to repair damage to their homes or property.

However, an application window was not released until Friday, August 30.

The program, which is administered through New York State Homes and Community Renewal, will provide residents in the eight impacted county regions up to $50,000 in state funding to help offset damages to their primary residences.

Homeowners can start applying on October 1. The application will close October 31.

Homeowners looking to apply should return to visit this website on October 1 to download an application. You can register for email updates in the meantime from New York State here.
