Laura Hand, the long-time anchor and reporter for NBC3 and CNY Central News, has officially announced she will be retiring from her broadcasting career in October.
She has been a beloved member of the CNYCentral team for more than 40 years and is well-known throughout Central New York for her contributions.
“Laura is one of the hardest-working journalists on our team and what many do not know, is how she has mentored hundreds of young journalists over the course of her career,” Sean Carroll, CNY Central News Director said. “I thank Laura for the guidance she’s provided me and for the role model she is to so many in this community.”
Hand became a journalist to help people appreciate all of the positives in the community. She has tirelessly maintained CNYCentral’s “In Your Community” web events calendar and produced “Weekend’s Best Bets” and “The Week Ahead” to keep Central New Yorkers aware of how to get involved and have fun.
