New charges filed after violent domestic incident; victim still in hospital recovering from stabbing
New charges were filed against the man accused of violently stabbing a female victim on Chapin and Garden Street in Seneca Falls on August 17th.
Christopher Freeman, 32, who had no permanent address when police arrested him, had already been charged with second-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, aggravated criminal contempt, aggravated family offense, and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
He is now facing new felony charges of aggravated unlicensed operation, operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license, driving while intoxicated with two prior DWI convictions and three counts of violating Leandra’s Law, which is driving while intoxicated with children in the vehicle.
It’s unclear when Freeman will be arraigned on the new charges.
Man charged with attempted murder after violent stabbing in Seneca Falls
A man has been arrested on attempted murder charges as police continue investigating a violent domestic incident, which left an unnamed woman with life-threatening stab wounds.
It all took place on Saturday, August 17th when police received a report that a domestic incident had taken place on Garden Street in Seneca Falls between 10:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
Police say Christopher Freeman, 32, of no permanent address placed the woman in the back of a vehicle, and took her to an address on Chapin Street. They say the woman had already sustained several stab wounds.
Police discovered an involved vehicle on Chapin Street, and began life-saving measures to the female victim. They say she sustained several life-threatening stab wounds to her body.
Officers performed CPR until EMTs arrived on-scene.
They say Freeman also sustained several self-inflicted stab wounds to his body. While both are expected to make a full-recovery – only Freeman has been released form the hospital at this time.
Both were airlifted to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse, according to initial and follow-up reports.
Police say officers and investigators from the Seneca Falls Police Department, Seneca County Sheriff’s Office, and New York State Police all assisted at the scene, and have continued to assist throughout the investigation.
The Seneca County District Attorney’s Office was also notified and involved immediately.
The violent stabbing was said to have been witnessed by three small children, who were not injured, according to police.
Freeman has been charged with second-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, aggravated criminal contempt, aggravated family offense, and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
Police say that Freeman was also not cooperative with officers as he was taken into custody and booked. He was charged with one count of obstructing governmental administration at that time.
