The Mets didn’t exactly light up the scoreboard through the first two games of their weekend series against the Royals. But that changed in the seventh inning on Sunday, when New York showed what it can do offensively with a barrage of hits that produced six runs and boosted the Mets to an 11-5 victory.
Over a dizzying nine-batter span, the Mets had eight hits and a sacrifice bunt. J.D. Davis came off the bench for a game-tying RBI single and hot-hitting Amed Rosario followed with a two-run knock that put the Mets ahead, 6-4.
