The law states the ban will cover quote “any plastic” bag. The Buffalo News reports, industry experts and environmentalists who have been at odds over this topic actually agree on something: The law is too vague.
With budgets coming up for 2020, companies are trying to find out if those colorful reusable tote bags at checkout lines now will be legal? Or what if they have plastic handles?
According to the Buffalo News, government sources privately acknowledge there are talks to narrow the bag ban law to clear up any confusion.
