The Finger Lakes Region is once again in the running for USA Today’s America’s “Best Wine Region” and “Best Wine Festival” competitions.
The region earned the “Best Wine Region” designation in 2018.
Anyone can vote once a day, every day, until the contests close on Monday, August 12 at noon.
The Finger Lakes Wine Region has 140 wineries and tasting rooms, four wine trails, more than 9,300 acres of vineyards and 54,600 tons of grape production.
In a joint statement encouraging residents to vote, State Senator Tom O’Mara and Assemblyman Phil Palmesano said, “Area residents know the beauty and the value of the Finger Lakes wine region, but here’s a chance to let the nation know it too. It’s another outstanding opportunity to keep the Finger Lakes region on the national map and to show our pride in Finger Lakes wine country as a leading destination for visitors from around the globe, an absolute foundation of our leading tourism industry, and a cornerstone of our local culture and economy.”
