Police: Auburn woman worked with conspirator to steal from Walmart in Seneca Falls

On Thursday at 11:08 a.m. police arrested Jennifer L. Mattes, 29, of Auburn following theft reports at the Wal-Mart Super Center.

On two separate occasions in June Mattes entered the store with another associate, who together, acted in concert to steal merchandise.

After being observed by employee’s fleeing the store, asset protection employees were able to secure CCTV footage of the pair on the occasions passing all points of sale with not attempt at rendering payment for the items.

Following a police investigation Mattes and her associate were identified and warrants were requested.

Mattes was later arrested and charged with two counts of petit larceny and two counts of conspiracy in the sixth degree, both misdemeanors.

She was transported to the Seneca County Law Enforcement Center where she will await arraignment.
