Rehabilitation work is getting under way for four bridges in Wayne County.
This is part of a multi-million-dollar project that is expected to last over the next two years.
Four single-lane truss bridges over the Erie Canal are the focus of the project: The Galloway Road bridge and the Port Gibson Rod bridge in Palmyra, the County House Road bridge in Arcadia and the Lyons-Marengo Road bridge in Galen.
The Galloway Road bridge will be the first to undergo repairs. It will be closed for about six to eight months. The other bridges will follow, with work dates sometimes overlapping.
