Sheriff: Officer sent to hospital after altercation at Ontario County Jail

Sheriff Henderson says that a Henrietta resident was arrested on assault charges following an incident at the Ontario County Jail.

On July 23rd deputies arrested Devon Leonard Madison, 25, of Henrietta, who is an inmate at the jail following a physical altercation.

Henderson says that Madison refused to obey commands of the officer and engaged in a physical altercation with the officer.

Madison is further accused of punching the officer in the head with a closed fist.

He was held at the Ontario County Jail on $5,000 cash bail. Henderson says that he’s still being held at the jail on unrelated charges.

The Corrections Officer was treated at Clifton Springs Hospital following the incident.
