Following comments from multiple members of the public and debate among legislators, the Cayuga County Legislature Tuesday night approved a resolution meant to increase diversity among applicant pools for county jobs.
The resolution, introduced by Legislator Ryan Foley, D-Auburn and approved by an 11-3 vote, directs the county’s human resources and civil service department to explore options to increase applicant diversity and to carry out recruitment efforts in a way to “maximize exposure within minority communities.”
