Man accused of murdering woman, son in Sodus close to plea deal

The man accused of murdering his former girlfriend and her 14-month-old son in May 2018 in Sodus is in the process of negotiating a plea agreement.

Federal paperwork filed on Tuesday morning by the attorney for Everardo Donoteo-Reyes, also known as Alberto Reyes, indicates that he will accept the proposed agreement “subject to U.S. Attorney’s Office approval.” The terms of the plea agreement were not disclosed as the agreement is not final.

Reyes is charged with murder in the deaths of 18-year-old Selena Hidalgo-Calderon and her son, Owen.

In May 2018, Selena’s remains were found buried under dirt and branches on the Sodus farm where she worked. Owen’s remains were identified in October.
