Allendale Columbia School in Pittsford will not be merging with The Harley School after all.
Allendale Columbia’s Board of Trustees says it is opting to not follow through with the proposed merger.
“This decision was reached after an extensive due diligence process with the best interest of all the students, alumni, donors and employees in mind,” a statement released Tuesday by the school read.
Back in April, the schools announced their intentions to merge over the next few years. Significant changes to the curriculum were not anticipated to begin until 2020.
Instead, the board says Allendale Columbia will undergo an “aggressive” fundraising effort to stabilize the institution going forward.
